Do we ever ask how to be honest?
It is hard to be honest.
Even with ourselves. In some cases, especially with ourselves!
There are just some parts of our thoughts, some things from the past and some people which we want to forget and avoid thinking about them. This includes also Teddy Bears. Although I love Teddy Bears, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes it can just get too much, if a nerving Teddy Bear named McTeddy is talking and asking you nonstop questions and going on your nerves!
So why is this happening? Is it from our past mistakes, or events so painful that we will be glad if we lose that part of our memory, forever?
It is like an old wound, already closed, but still festering beneath. It is always there, but we ignore it, try to forget and hide it, cover it up, hoping it will stay away.
Why would we even want to be honest with ourselves?
Because we refuse automatically what we don’t like to remember and in this way we let ourselves trapped in the past. Therefore we are unable to enjoy the present and the future to the fullest.
Can we ever heal?
Yes. But only if we open up these wounds, clean them out completely and let them heal, let new skin tissue grow over.

Why should we be honest with ourselves?
How to be honest then?
Step 1
Write down the incident. Be as specific as you can. Recall the dates, the time, the temperature. What were you doing that day. The days before and after the happenings, if you can remember. Did your mood change drastically? (with McTeddy for sure…)
We are opening our wounds here, so be as honest as possible. Add anything you can think off, even the smallest detail is important.
Step 2
Step one is the hardest part, Step 2 is easier. If we have fallen to the bottom of the valley then the only way is up right?
Take that piece of paper on which you wrote all your details of step 1, then you can cut it up, crush it, stamp on it, burn it, use it as practice target on McTeddy, anything you can think of.
After that, dispose it. With it goes all your pain, your bad emotions and negative feelings. You have been able to cleanse yourself.
Step 3
Repeat this for any number of past issues bothering you. (hmmm…. I got many, mainly McTeddy stories, but hey, at least now I know how to get over them and I won’t be that much bothered, when it is happening again, smile)
So, if you have been truly honest with yourself, this method will be very effective. However if you are still holding back, this probably might not work.
So tell me, does it feel good to be honest with ourselves?
How to be honest with ourselves always?
Just remember what you did today. Remember this cleansing action. Remember how good it made you feel and you will never be dishonest with yourself again!
McTeeeedyyyyy, where are you? I want to test my reactions with you! (smile…)
And even if we fall back once in a while, it is all right. We can do this over and over again, whenever we feel ready for it.
What you may try as well: get a good friend or a mentor who you trust (for me that is The Joker) to do this together. Having support strengthens your ability to resolve your pain.
Agent Moonwalker, Special Agent Reporter of The Daily Wealthy Affiliate
Hey Agent Moonwalker! Among the bunch of articles I saw on your site while giving a look from right to left, this one caught my eyes. Its title is a keyword well discussed in the years we are living in. Some of us due to lack of knowledge and the rest because we don’t want to, most of us seem to want to know how to be honest with ourselves, and with this article you seem to have given some pretty precious answers.
I loved the “letting new tissue grow” and I totally agree with that, as there is no light without leaving the dark behind. I loved to read your article and I will definitely come back for more. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Hey Heku,
Your honesty just shines through here. Honesty is the rarest commodity nowadays, more so on planet earth where boasts and half-truths and flat out lies work for tons. Like that, they see no cause for change. Let’s see whether Dr. Fard can invent a machine to harvest honesty and spread it among the lie-mongers. There’s always hope for the future right?
