How To Write a Good Blog Post!

Seriously, how to write a good blog post? This topic is a dead horse.

Yes I said horse, as alien would sound a bit strange right? At least that is what Dr. Fard would say. Where is he by the way, he told me to be back in 5 minutes and bring me some chocolates. Now 10 minutes have passed and he is still not back. He would not, or would he? Eat all my chocolates?

That reminds me, Aaila had a new music CD for me, she made it herself she said. You know what, you wait here and I will be right back and pick up that CD from her office, so we can listen to some music while I write this story for you.

……………………………………………..

I am back, did you get bored while I was gone? No you would not believe it, she was not in her office. No CD, no chocolates. Well let’s listen to some radio then and let’s start shall we?

Where were we? Ah yes dead horse and how to write a good blog post! This last keyword is so hot that we can say we are beaten to death by all new bloggers.

How To Write a Good Blog Post in 4 Easy Steps!

How to write a good blog post in 4 steps
Researching on how to write a good blog post

It’s so easy to write a blog post in 4 steps. You just need:

  1. Opening paragraph (100 words)

2. Three supporting paragraphs (3x 100 words)

3. Conclusion (100 words)

4. Edit and publish

And tada a 500 word masterpiece is born. Isn’t that cool? Now this tactic can come in very handy if you work at a newspaper like The Daily Wealthy Affiliate, especially when The Joker is not in the building as he normally always reads my posts first. I do not know why, does he have a crush on me?

With 500 words he will be over in my office in no time and start a discussion about his gracious jokes to add it to my story here as he thinks it will be much more fun reading them, so when he is in the office, I write much longer articles.

But when he is not here, it is great as I can sneak out and have coffee and chocolates in our kitchen and have some fun with Aitor the new IT Operator playing guessing passwords at his computer, that is so much fun. I do not know how he is doing it, but he beats me with his game most of the time.

Yet with a dead horse, we can give new life to it as I just did by adding funny content about The Joker and my life here in the office, so we resuscitated it. Beat it from a different angle.

So let’s try it again:

Ready? How To Write a Good Blog Post!

How To Write a Good Blog Post
How To Write a Good Blog Post, follow the easy steps and master your skills.
  1. Use simple English; (avoid words like resuscitated)

2. Avoid alienated words; (ask Dr. Fard for more info)

3. Plain and easy to understand; (so simple that even I understand it)

4. Fanciful does not work, unless you are writing a poem or creating a play;

5. KIS (Keep It Simple); well, you may ask, how simple is simple?

6. Do not use words that a person needs to check up using a dictionary; see point 1, you can use Google for more info, or pretend that your readers understand them, because it’s embarrassing to admit it otherwise. (I am embarrassed, am I?)

7. Same goes for grammar;

8. We are not writing a legal document, where we need to cover all bases (just our asses maybe), wait this is a very good example for point 6 and no I am not gonna change it.

Watch Language? How To Write a Good Blog Post!

Have you ever watched a language? No? Well me neither, so no worries. Anyway this topic is about how we should watch out for the use of language. Are words like far(d)t and asses allowed?

If it is Dr. Fard yes, but psssst ….. don’t tell him. So yes it depends. On your topic, or on your target audience, maybe. But on a kids’ site it definitely shouldn’t be used, probably, maybe.

Some use of vulgar may bring a laugh. Or it may backfire and drive people away even faster. Sometimes we just have to take a risk. Anyway, every time we write a new blog post, we are taking a risk, especially with The Joker in the house.

How To Write a Good Blog Post Attracting Readers!

How to write a good blog post
We are taking a risk every time we think we know how to write a good blog post.

Readers might like it, hate it, or ignore it. Whenever possible, aim for a like. Worsest case scenario, aim for a dislike. At least you got their attention (the correct word may be dis-attention instead?)

The worst is indifference. Where people read and move on. That means the article is too bland. Better be bad than mediocre right?

But mediocre is too common. There are too many people writing about common stuff, like me sometimes, but hey I need to if I want to be ready quick for my password game with Aitor.

Guilty

I have written several bland articles just like that, you know already why (Aitor). Present the bare and correct facts. Get all the I-s dotted and the T-s crossed. Be plain, be simple, be boring.

How to win friends and influence people, like Aitor?

Genius

Notice the difference? Know the difference? When you do, you will write just like me.

Me? I’m just another mediocre writer. Practicing, praying, struggling, and hoping that one day my writing can rise above the rest of you.

Agent Moonwalker Reporter of The Daily Wealthy Affiliate explains you how to write a good blog post.

How to write a good blog post?

The key?

Keep reading, writing, shocking, thinking.

1. Read.

Read a lot. Read before you write.

2. Write?

Yes. Keep going. Do not stop. Haven’t you heard of Practice makes Perfect? Yes, it is still the universal truth.

3. Shock!

Give your readers little bolts of currents from time to time. Keep them on their toes. Keep them on the edge. But not for long. Just a little twinge. Now and then.

4. Think.

Thinking is essential, just like writing is. You cannot publish a blank paper or an empty blog. Think in the right direction. Think in 123 different directions. Think what others do not dare to think, like I do.

Then write those down. Whether you use them is another question and open for discussion. But to implement ideas, you must first have ideas right?

Read, then think how to shock, finally write. And you’ve got your blog post.

  1. I love how you break down the instructions on writing a blog post. I especially found it helpful that you added word counts for each section. I agree with staying away from big words that people don’t understand. If you’re trying to reach the general audience, keep it simple. It’s not an academic paper. Your post is a great example of how a blog should be.

  2. Thanks for the positive note! I remember how I struggled when I first wrote a blog post for The Daily Wealthy Affiliate, it’s like trying to squeeze the ideas out of my head. There are many ways to write and it’s heartening to see readers reading the commenting on a post!

  3. This is a great and simple breakdown of the blogging process. I like your fun writing style, and I think that’s also a key to appealing to your readers and hooking them in to read more of your content. Readers aren’t looking for a bland presentation of facts, but instead, they want flair, humor, and a general sense of fun.

    Thanks for the informative article!
